This interview by Carlos Piñones Rivera (CPR) stems from the Fondecyt Sarnaqaña Initiation grant 11230358, which allowed us to finance the first year of an intensive internship at the Instituto de Lengua y Cultura Aymara (ILCA), founded by Juan de Dios Yapita and currently directed by Denise Arnold. This opportunity allowed us to present our project to her and enrich it with her patient erudition. The interview explores Denise’s recent intellectual trajectory and invites her to reflect, through an Anthropology of Life, on the core dimensions of the Sarnaqaña project: popular economy, mobility, and ritual efficacy.
